In addition, The Chapel Hill Herald offered the Inter-Faith Council 40 weekly columns in which to profile each of the honorees. I wrote some of these profiles and arranged for two UNC journalism students to write the rest. For very little money, the Inter-Faith Council received weekly positive exposure in the local media for nearly a year. Two of the articles can be viewed below.
In my pro bono work for the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble, I created a multi-pronged strategy for getting out the word about the company’s shows at the Carolina Theater. In addition to events created on Facebook, event listings were posted on a number of web sites. Media pitches resulted in coverage in the Independent Weekly, Chapel Hill News, Durham News, Cary News, Raleigh News and Observer, UNC’s Daily Tarheel, Wake Forest Weekly, Mooresville Tribune, Chapel Hill Magazine and WCOM radio.
